The More You Know - Blog Post 14

Updated knowledge on Manifestation, Affirmations, Meditation, Prayer, Positive energy, Sage.

The last time I wrote about Manifestation and Affirmations I was still learning about it. It was still SO new to me versus today, I’d say I’ve come a long way and can proudly and comfortably talk about these topics with way more knowledge than I had the first time.


Manifestation:

To Manifest, is an ACTION. It’s the action of what you do to obtain something that you want or need. You can manifest things by thinking it, saying it,or, writing it. Most of the time we’re doing this without even knowing that we’re doing it. But there comes a time in your life when you realize that you want more for yourself or that you want or yearn for things to be different in your life and that's where manifestation comes in. You think about how you wish things were different, or how you want things to be or to go, you talk about how you’re going to do this or that, you write down your goals and this is the beginning of how things manifest into your life.


Manifestation is the result of you thinking, saying or writing the things you want. By doing this you attract them to you, you’re bringing attention to the things you want so that the universe can bring it to you. Now, it doesn’t always work positively or the way or time you want, but, it will for sure happen. For it to happen positively you have to be careful of the way you write it, speak it or think it. For example, you can’t just say “I want 30,000 or universe give me 30,000” because in that case, you could get that money in any way the universe wants to give it to you. A better way to say it, write it or think it would be “ put me in the position to obtain, receive or get 30,000” and that will ensure that you get that money but in a more better/ positive way.


I’m not going to say that Manifestation is a dangerous game but this is something that you need to be careful with when doing because these are your words written or said, these are your thoughts, so, you only have yourself to blame when you’re put in a position you don’t like or didn’t want. This can be something beautiful when used correctly. Otherwise, it’s a self battle of you trying to control your negative thoughts, watching what you write with real intention and, watching what you say because you know karma is a bitch and VERY real!

Whether you know it or not, your words are very powerful, your tongue holds the power of life and death. Be careful what you say and who you say it to or about, think about what you say before you say it because once it’s said you can’t rewind time to take it back.


Affirmations:

“I am beautiful” “I am smart” “I am kind” “I am an amazing business owner” “I love me” “I am beautifully made”


All those are affirmations, confirming things I already knew about me, but am telling myself again to remind me of who I am. Doing this helps with confidence and self-love.

Affirmations are meant to be positive. They are words or phrases you say to yourself to instill positive thoughts about yourself, to remind you of how amazing you are, to help you love you, to confirm the things you already know about you and to say them out loud!

I’m learning that adding Affirmations to my everyday routine helps me. Helps me smile more when I think these awesome things about myself, helps me to love me, love the skin I’m in, and really confirms that I am that bitch, that beautiful, smart, kind, THICC, money making, awesome business owner.


Love who are you, because life will take through so many ups and downs sometimes you start to forget who you are, sometimes you forget to show yourself some love, sometimes you forget to look in the mirror and tell yourself how hot you are. Do what makes you happy, because, in the end, people are going to them regardless of you and doing what makes you happy, makes you happy, and you being truly happy and smiling, is loving you, loving the skin you’re in, noting giving a fuck about other peoples’ thoughts of you, of your outfit of choice, of your career of choice.


We are only in the lifetime for a little while so put show yourself some love while you’re here. Put yourself first on the list after God.


Meditation and Prayer:

Prayer is when you talk to God and Meditation is when you hear God talking to you. You can pray all day and all night but if you don’t make time to clear your mind, how are you going to hear God talk to you?


I really believe that Prayer and Meditation go hand in hand, they both need to be used together combined with reading God’s word (the bible) to really achieve peace of mind, peace within yourself and to help you grow spiritually, especially in your relationship with God.

When I was growing up meditation was seen as something bad or evil almost, because the people around me didn’t understand what meditation was, they didn’t meditate, they solely believed in the single power of prayer. They were uneducated on what meditation really is, how powerful it is and how it can be something positive in your life. I think they assigned meditation to other religions and lifestyles that didn’t match ours and so they saw it as something we shouldn’t be doing because it didn’t align with us, our lifestyle, our religion, our walk with Christ, it didn’t have anything to do with God and we shouldn’t do it.


As a young adult today, I see things very different and very clear. I think that there are many ways to meditate, and I think that it can be different also depending on your religion or whatever or whoever you serve as your higher power. The experience can be different based off of that. I’m not going to go too deep into that but, that’s what I believe.

So to be clear, Meditation is the process of quieting your mind. In order to relax your mind, or for spiritual/ religious purposes. The overall goal is to attain an inner state of awareness and intensify personal and spiritual growth. It involves a concentrated focus on something such as a sound, image or feeling.


As I stated earlier, Meditation can actually help you with your spiritual growth. As you achieve a quiet mind while meditating, it’s in those moments when you hear God speak to you, confirm something for you or tell you something, it’s in those moments that it’s going to happen. Now, I’m not saying that it’s always going to happen in those moments because you can hear God speak to you outside of meditating but, I’m saying that when your mind is free of today's tasks and trying to figure out what’s for dinner He’s going to tell you something and it’s going to be clear as day and it’s going to be amazing hearing him speak to you, you’re going to want to do it more often because not only are you achieving inner peace, peace of mind but your spiritual growth will be stronger than it was a few months ago, a few weeks ago, heck, even a few days ago.


Prayer is like picking up the phone and speaking with God himself. You can tell him anything in the world and he will listen. When you talk to God through prayer, your relationship changes, he becomes more than someone in the Bible, He becomes your best friend, someone whom you can talk to a million times a day and him not get tired of you. When you pray, it actually changes things. When you start your day with a prayer, your day is amazing. When you pray and actually turn away from your sins, you have been forgiven. When you pray you are confident, you are stronger, you are happy, you are changed for the better, you are a child of God. When your prayers become consistent along with meditation, your faith becomes stronger and when you have FAITH. NOTHING can get in the way of your growing relationship with God because when you have faith, you are not scared, you trust God because you know God will never steer you wrong in life and he will provide for you, he will do many things for you but you have to have faith and trust in the Lord.

Prayer is picking up the phone to talk to God and Meditation is hearing Him speak back to you.


Positive Energy:


To have positive energy in today’s world is a rare thing. However, having this means that you look at every situation with positivity, you think it and actually, give it off.


Positive energy affects our daily life, relationships, friendships and everything else. When we change our ways of thinking and giving off positive energy it reduces stress, improves our relationships/friendships, improves our physical health and can help us achieve goals.

With that being said, KEEP THAT NEGATIVE ENERGY FROM ROUND ME! And I mean that shit too. I will tell somebody quick, fast in a hurry, “I don’t wanna know,” or “It’s none of my business,” I’ll change my location just to keep myself sperated from that person. I don’t want it stressing me out, affecting my health, or keeping me from the things I need to be doing.

I HATE a gossping ass bitch, and always will, like I never understood why a person would want to be so infactuated with another persons business and what’s going on with these situations when it originally had nothing to do with you. Like mind your business, keeping up with other peoples business is why your blood pressure is so high and you get sick every 3 months. Like its literally sickening you, bitch let it go and leave them alone.


I truly believe that positive energy comes from within, it’s something you create for yourself, and that when you really have it, you will do anything to protect it. Even if that means, leaving somebody, separating yourself, unfriending “friends”, or even changing your daily routines which I also believe plays a huge role on your life. I came across this picture that was floating around social media and, I knew I had to have it in this post!


At one point, I was wanting to use sage for a while, I knew it was good for cleansing bad energy but, I never knew it was good for all of the other things listed in the picture. I was looking up where to get it online and everything until my good sis Laneisha (S/O TO YOU BOO!) told me where I could find some locally. I said that to say this since I’ve bought the sage and actually been burning it, I’ve been seeing major differences. Way better energy in my room,(which is where I burn it at) it’s a calmness in here, I’ve had a peak in productivity, creativeness, has definitely reset the mood a few times and definitely definitely uplifted my mood, and cleansed the air.


I love burning my sage and listening to gospel music for the ultimate experience, but some days I vibe out to Jhene Aiko or Summer Walker or Eric Bellinger and, I love it, I love the whole experience of burning sage and the improvements I’ve seen so far. I would highly recommend buying white sage and burning it for your ultimate experience. Right Now, I’m still enjoying the White sage with Cedar which is really good for cleansing but, my next purchases will be the loose sage and the sage smudge stick. I also want to invest in some crystals as well.
